P.F. Chang pours a new wine

On 5-18 (that’s today)  at 5:18 p.m. P.F. Chang restaurants throughout the country — except in Utah and a few other tee-totalling states — will give away complimentary glasses of their new Vineyard 518 wine.

Utah diners don’t get to participate in the national launch, thanks to a state law that forbids giving away booze. But Utah drinkers should be able to buy the wine for $7 a glass.

The national restaurant chain worked with Wattle Creek Winery, a family-owned estate, in Mendocino, to create the new label that initially includes a Sauvignon Blanc and a Syrah blend. The wines come in 10-liter recyclable containers.

What’s the significance of 518?  In Chinese numerology the number means “I will prosper.”

  1. John says:

You failed to mention that Wattle Creek is owned by Paul Flemings, hence the p.f.
